Everything you need to know about Tapas Tracker.

What is Tapas Tracker?

Tapas Tracker is a structured practice and commitment tracking app. The name comes from the Sanskrit word "tapas" - disciplined effort sustained over time. Instead of tracking isolated habits as checkboxes, you create goals that group multiple tasks together with individual targets, flexible scheduling, and real accountability.

Features at a glance

Practice sets

Group multiple tasks into one goal. Each task has its own tracking type and target.

Built-in timer

Runs in the background with pause/resume. Plays a sound when you hit your target. Keeps counting if you want to go further.

Three tracking types

Count reps (quantity), run timed sessions (duration), or check things off (boolean).

Flexible scheduling

Daily, specific weekdays, X times per period, or custom work/rest cycles.

Two commitment modes

Inflexible (miss a day, start over) or flexible (track completion rate against your threshold).

Progress visualization

Contribution grids, progress rings, streak tracking, and on-track status badges.

Share & import

Export templates, share via link or QR code with optional password protection.

7 themes + dark mode

Teal, Coral, Purple, Forest, Ocean, Pink, and Mint - each with light and dark variants.

Frequently asked questions

What is a goal?

A goal is a practice container that holds multiple tasks you do together over a committed period. For example, a morning routine with meditation, push-ups, and journaling - all tracked as one practice.

What can I track?

Anything with structure. Fitness programs, study plans, medication schedules, music practice, prayer routines, recovery protocols, language learning - if it has activities you do regularly, Tapas Tracker can handle it.

What are the three tracking types?

Quantity (count reps, pages, doses - anything measurable), Duration (timed sessions with a built-in timer that runs in the background), and Boolean (simple yes/no check-off).

What's the difference between flexible and inflexible mode?

Inflexible mode locks the goal if you miss a scheduled day - for those who want strict accountability. Flexible mode tracks your overall completion rate against a threshold you set, so you can recover from dips without starting over.

What scheduling options are there?

Daily, specific weekdays (e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri), a number of times per week/month, or custom work/rest cycles (e.g. 5 days on, 2 days off).

Is my data safe?

All data is stored locally on your device. No account required, no cloud sync, no way for us to access it. If you need to move data between devices, use the export/import feature.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Your data is never deleted. You keep everything you've tracked. Premium features become locked and the theme resets to Teal, but all your goals, tasks, and logs remain intact.

Can I share my practice with others?

Yes. Export a goal as a template (structure only, no personal data) and share via link, QR code, or file. Others can import it and start immediately. You can also password-protect shared links.

Is there a web version?

Tapas Tracker is available on iOS and Android as a native app. There's no web version at this time.

Can I log past days I missed?

With premium, you can enable backdating to log previous days. You can also bulk-complete past days or mark specific days as intentionally skipped without breaking your streak.
